Six Up Save League

League 3 -  'Third Time Lucky'

After licking our wounds and celebrating our victories from Bristol Vanguard Vanquish 2016, we decided it was time for a new Six Up Save League.
Very simple rules. 1000 points. Play every other member of Six Up Save. 3 points for a Win, 1 for a Draw and 0 for a Loss. One with the most points wins. Most importantly, however, we can change our army lists between battles but must stay with the same army.
It all kicks off on 1st May 2016.

League 2 - 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly'

The 2nd League is now over. With 1 final battle between Martin's Eldar and Bruces's Blood Angels, the winning team was announced.

In 1st Place with 66 points were the Chaos team
In 2nd place with 65 points were the Xenos
In 3rd place with 64 points were the Imperium.

Read on below to see how the league played out.......

Were now starting to gear up for our second League, due to commence on the 1st of October, and drawing to an end on New Years day...

In this League we will be running as 3 teams of 3 players....

Fighting in the name of the Emperor on the Imperium's side we will have:

Bruce
Matt
Jamie#1

Fighting for the Blood God (and any other Chaotic, Satanic Gods available) on the Chaos side we will have:

Sam
Damien
Jamie#2

And fighting for the Xeno's we will have:

Martin
Charles
Paul

For this League we will not have any set lists as before, so players will have the option of modifying each list if they so desire, and each game will be of varying sizes to be agreed by each player before the match. All games will be played using random Maelstrom missions and we will count up the number of VP's from each game to track the scores for the teams. Each team can play as many games as they like, playing either singles or Doubles games, but Only the highest 5 VP scores will be taken at the end of the league!!

Also, as an extra incentive, if an army is tabled, the top score for that team at that point is removed from the table!!

n.b. To keep the Xeno team balanced with the Chaos and Imperium armies, for the sake of the league, they will treat each other as Allies of Convenience or better if playing in a doubles game.

Updated 7/10/15

And so begins the 2nd Six up Save League!!

3 battles took place tonight, Jamie 1 vs Jamie 2, Matt vs Paul and Charles/Martin Vs Sam/Dae

Jamie 1 were victorious over Jamie 2, winning with a 16-12 and tabling Jamie 2!! As this was the 1st game to be completed, only the 12 points earned by Jamie 2 were available, and therefore, they were removed from the table.

Matt took a victory against Paul, beating him 7 - 5

Martin and Charles narrowly avoided being tabled, and managed to secure a win over Dae and Sam 15 - 13.

This is how the tables now look after the 1st games

Updated 26/11/15

All 3 teams have now managed to get their base 5 games onto the table and here's how it now looks:

Theres still a little over a month left so anything can still happen in this league, its still too close to call....

Updated 03/12/15

As the League comes into its last month, the teams are really pushing for points, and hoping to table the opponent to strip them of their highest scores!!

Last night Bruce played Jamie2 and achieved just that causing the chaos team to lose their top score of 26 with only a 5 point win. Dae played Jamie1 and came out victorious with a 13-5 win. This changes the board around somewhat:

Updated 16/12/15

Tonight the League descended into utter chaos...3 games played, 3 players tabled, the scoreboard didnt know what was going on....

Martin played against Dae, and won, tabling Dae and taking 17 VP's for the Xeno team whilst Dae added 4 to the Chaos table.

As Dae was tabled, the Chaos team lost their top score of 14 and so for the 1st time leaving Xenos in 1st place with 65 points, Imperium into 2nd place with 61 and Chaos now in 3rd with 45 points.

Next Sam tabled Jamie1, netting a huge 24 points for Chaos, and removing the Imperium's top score of 16. This changed how the table looked, putting Chaos back into 1st place with 66 points, Xenos in 2nd with 65 and Imperium into 3rd with 55.

Bruce ended the games by tabling Paul and taking 17 points for the imperium and causing the Xeno team to lose their top score, the score of 17 Martin had just added to the table. The table turned upside down again putting Chaos into 1st with 66, Imperium came back to 2nd with 64 and Xenos went back to 3rd with 55....

Here's how the table now looks

2 weeks to go....

League 1 - 'In the Beginning'

As a way of getting to know everyone in the group and give us a chance to show off some of our armies we have kicked off with 1000 point league.
The armies had to be battle forged, fluffy and painted meaning we all had some initiative to finish our models before we began. Everyone plays everyone else once for a total of 90 games. All the games are Maelstrom Mission One, Dawn of War Deployment on 4x4 tables.

As the campaign progresses we will be posting battle reports, pictures and results as well as our thoughts on how we think our armies are doing.

4/9/15

The 1st Six Up Save League is now over.....It saw some pretty awesome games being played with some very memorable moments (I think Bruce hitting a flying monstrous creature with a scout, for it to fail its grounding test, and then die horribly after failing its save comes straight to mind!!)

Unfortunately Stone was unable to make any more of his games, so we have decided to award wins to everyone who didn't get to play him to keep it as fair as possible. We also awarded losses to anyone who hadn't played any other games before the league came to an end....and so we have the results.....

Congratulations to Bruce and Sam for coming Joint 1st Place with 21 points. Had Bruce managed to have his last Game against Damien (and won) he may have taken 1st place for himself.....maybe next time :D

Here's how the table looked at the end......

Death korps of Krieg

Hello everyone, Sam here, it has been a while since I have posted on here and wanted to share what I have been working on. My first loyalist (shudder) army. Also my first guard army.
Over the past 10 months or so I have been slowly building and painting a Death Korps of Krieg army using the seige of Vraaks book. I have been attempting a unit a week but like we all do my attention and attitude towards painting blows hot and cold.
I was origionally drawn to Krieg due to their post apocalyptic / menacing appearance and thought that they would be perfect for a renegades army. However the more that I read and planned the army, the more interested in the Krieg themselves that I became. This lead me to my first order of death riders and the other more krieg units. This is not to say that i wont experiment with renegades as i have found some wicked looking zombie krieg models that I may incorperate in the future. I expect this army to play in a totally different style to those I currently use …

Escape from Eidolon Doubles Tournament

I would like to say a massive Thankyou to everyone that came along and took part in the day. It was my 1st attempt at running a tournament and you all made it so much fun. I sincerley hope you all had at least as much fun as I did today!
I have to thank the Guys from Celestial Forge again for providing those beautiful tables for us to play on, and Andy for helping with the certificates and the seals on them as well as providing the food and getting us all together in the 1st place with his shop.

30K army and first outing for the iron warriors

Hey guys, Sam here wanting to share a little about the progress of my iron warriors and my first heresy game in 6 months!
About a year ago I began collecting a pre-heresy Salamander army. I Enjoyed playing it and took it to a few events. Then I read Angel Exterminatus, Iron Warriors omnibus and Storm of Iron. This persuaded me to abandon the green armoured emperor loving pansies and begin a legion with real metal! in the words of The D: "you can't kill the metal!"

Iron Warriors really appealed to me because they struck me as a legion which could be used for dual purpose as well as having a lot of components that I like. I run these as chaos marines as well as pre heresy marines. Their pragmatism and seige warfare is cool as well as them being undivided, so I can run them with either daemon army :)
So my army as it stands is around 6000 points with Perturabo (next order) and I am nearly at the end of a collection. There are a few units here and there but overall I think I…
